If you thought the festival season was over, think again.

Brighton got back into the summer spirit in October as a “City Festival” took over the town - turning the beachfront and city streets into a giant festival site from 4pm until 6am. On Thursday October 25, Brighton City Festival converted top central music venues into fourteen arenas within five hundred meters of each other, in what was the biggest one-day music event ever to take place in the city.

The event played host to over 6000 people, with 100 acts in various locations around Brighton.

One wristband provided entry to all arenas, and for only £15! This had to be one of the best festival line-ups you could get for no more than the price of a few pints…in Brighton.

The sheer amount of venues and acts within the BCF meant that there was something for everyone, with musical styles arranged by venue.

Some personal festival highlights were being at the front for an amazingly energetic set from Soulwax, backed up by a full house in Tru that were clearly enjoying themselves. Dans le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip and DJ Format playing the crowd in the bar room at Tru, and dancing the night away with Laurent Garnier.

Despite some organisational problems, the event was reported to have been a great success, and plans are already underway for a bigger and better event next year, so watch out for the BCF.
